The car that replaced the Citroën C4 Pallas is the Citroën C4 Lounge. Launched in 2012, the C4 Lounge was developed for markets such as Latin America and Eurasia, maintaining its mid-size sedan concept but with a more modern design and significant technical improvements compared to the Pallas, such as the replacement of the four-speed automatic transmission with a six-speed one, in addition to the introduction of the 1.6 turbo engine in partnership with BMW. The C4 Lounge also brought advancements in safety and comfort, including systems such as ISOFIX, traction control, additional airbags, and onboard technology options.
Despite having a shorter overall length than the C4 Pallas, the C4 Lounge maintained the same wheelbase to preserve interior space, although it reduced the trunk capacity. The model was produced in Mercosur, focusing on maintaining Citroën’s premium image in the mid-size sedan segment, and was seen as an evolution of the C4 Pallas in the Brazilian market.
