Citroën C5 Aircross: Everything New in the Second Generation of the SUV

Citroën completes the renewal cycle of its portfolio with the arrival of the second generation of the C5 Aircross. The new model breaks completely with the past: only the name was retained from the previous SUV. Now it’s built on the platform. STLA Medium Thanks to Stellantis, the SUV gains a more imposing presence and a design aligned with the visual identity introduced by the new C3.

Design and Dimensions: More Robust and Spacious

The design has abandoned rounded lines in favor of more solid and modern shapes. The front stands out with its new LED light signature (with an option for matrix LEDs), while the body has grown significantly to offer more comfort.

Inside, modularity is ensured by the 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats. The focus on comfort remains through the seats. Citroën Advanced Comfort — which now include massage, ventilation and heating — and the classic suspension with progressive hydraulic stops.

Technology and Connectivity

The cockpit has been digitized with a 10-inch instrument panel and a high-resolution multimedia center. The system offers 3D navigation and wireless smartphone mirroring. In the top versions, a Head-up Display The enlarged display projects essential information directly onto the windshield.

Powertrains: From Hybrid to 100% Electric

The major mechanical innovation is the diversity of propulsion options, with a focus on electrification. Check out the options:

• Hybrid 145 (MHEV): 48V system with 1.2 turbo engine. Delivery 145 hp combined and uses a 6-speed eDCS automatic transmission.
• Plug-in Hybrid 195 (PHEV): It combines a 1.6 turbo engine with an electric motor to add up to 195 hp. The 21 kWh battery allows you to run up to 86 km In purely electric mode. A full charge takes approximately 3 hours using a 7.4 kW wallbox (with optional charger).

2. Electric Versions (ë-C5 Aircross)

For the first time, the model completely abandons fossil fuels in two configurations:

• High Autonomy: 230 hp and 97 kWh battery (range 680 km (WLTP).
