The C3’s entry price is attractive. But how much will you spend on servicing, parts, and maintenance in the first 60,000 km? We’ve compiled the real figures for 2025 so you won’t be surprised after the car is already in your garage.
EDITORIAL NOTE This article is based on review tables published by the Meu Citroën portal, cost data compiled by owners in specialized forums, average dealership prices in 2025/2026, and information from the Citroën C3 owner’s manual. The prices quoted are average references and may vary by region, dealership, and vehicle version.
Buying a Citroën C3 in 2025/2026 costs, in the entry-level version, around R$ 89,000. It’s a competitive price for what the car offers: turbo engine, automatic transmission, multimedia center with wireless CarPlay. So far, so good.
What few people calculate before closing the deal is the cost in the following years. Regular maintenance, replacement of worn parts, timing belts, fluids – all of this will show up on the bill sooner or later. And depending on where you get the maintenance done and which services you accept or refuse, the difference in the accumulated cost can be significant.

This guide was put together to give an honest overview of what you will spend to maintain the C3 in the first six years or 60,000 km of use, based on prices in 2025/2026.
The review schedule, when and what is done.
The C3 follows the standard service interval of every 10,000 km or 12 months, whichever comes first. This applies to all models in the current generation with the 1.0 Turbo Flex engine (T3/T200).
The complete six-year cycle, considering someone who drives around 10,000 km per year, looks like this:
10,000 km / 12 months — First service Oil and oil filter change, general fluid check, visual inspection of brakes and suspension, tire pressure check. The cost of the first service usually ranges between R$ 450 and R$ 650 at authorized Citroën dealerships (average prices in 2025). This price includes original parts, labor, and updating the vehicle’s service history.
20,000 km / 24 months — Second service More comprehensive than the first. Includes oil change, oil filter, engine air filter, cabin filter, brake system check with pad wear measurement, suspension inspection, and electronic systems testing. The average cost of the 20,000 km service at Citroën dealerships in 2025 ranges between R$ 700 and R$ 950, depending on the region and model.
30,000 km / 36 months — Third service Similar in scope to the 10,000 km service — oil and filter change, general checks. No major additional costs. Estimated cost: between R$ 450 and R$ 600.
40,000 km / 48 months — Fourth service More comprehensive maintenance cycle. In addition to routine changes, it includes brake fluid change, checking and possibly replacing spark plugs, and inspecting the cooling system. Estimated cost: between R$ 900 and R$ 1,200.
50,000 km / 60 months — Fifth service Similar procedures to the 30,000 km interval. Estimated cost: between R$ 450 and R$ 600.
60,000 km / 72 months — Sixth service This is the most expensive service in the cycle, costing between R$1,400 and R$1,900.. Citroenclube
The total accumulated cost, the number that matters.
If you follow the schedule precisely and avoid falling into the trap of unnecessary services, you will spend less than R$ 4,500 over 6 years. Considering the average costs of each service, the total will be approximately as follows:
- 10,000 km: ~R$ 550
- 20,000 km: ~R$ 825
- 30,000 km: ~R$ 525
- 40,000 km: ~R$ 1,050
- 50,000 km: ~R$ 525
- 60,000 km: ~R$ 1,650
Estimated total over 6 years: R$ 5,125
This averages out to R$854 per year, or approximately R$71 per month, set aside for preventative maintenance. For a car in this price range, that’s a reasonable amount.
Even with slightly more expensive servicing in even-numbered years, the 2025/2026 C3 is still one of the cars with the best maintenance costs in Brazil, when compared to models from competing brands.
What the dealership will try to sell you, and what you can refuse.
This part is never included in the manual. During servicing, especially the more comprehensive ones, it’s common practice for dealerships to offer additional services not included in the mandatory maintenance plan. Some have real value. Others are, in practice, unnecessary tied selling.
It’s common for them to offer extra services like injector cleaning, air conditioning sanitization, or additive replacements that aren’t mandatory. You have the right to refuse any service not included in the maintenance plan without affecting the warranty, as long as the mandatory services are performed within the warranty period..
The rule of thumb is simple: if it’s not in the owner’s manual for that mileage range, ask why it’s being recommended before authorizing. Request a quote before authorizing; you have the right to know the price before paying..
Dealership or independent repair shop, when each makes sense.
This is one of the most frequently asked questions among C3 owners, especially after the car is two years old.
The straightforward answer is: especially during the first three years, while the car is under warranty, it’s best to have the maintenance done at the dealership. After that, if you find a trustworthy workshop that follows the manufacturer’s standards and uses compatible or original parts, you can consider it, but always keep the invoices..
The reason is simple: having the car serviced outside of an authorized dealership during the warranty period could give Citroën grounds to deny coverage in case of a defect. It’s not guaranteed to happen, but the risk exists and the savings aren’t worth it.
After the warranty expires, the scenario changes. A workshop specializing in PSA vehicles, with a mechanic who knows the C3, tends to be cheaper than the dealership and capable of doing the same job, provided they use quality parts and document everything.

Original parts vs. aftermarket parts: the calculation nobody does.
Aftermarket parts from reliable suppliers offer savings of 30% to 50% without compromising quality. This is true for many wear parts, brake pads, filters, and auxiliary belts, which have reputable independent manufacturers in the Brazilian market.
The line that separates what is worth using aftermarket parts from what is worth using original parts is the criticality of the part. For components related to active safety, such as brakes, steering, and airbags, always use original or certified equivalent parts. For filters and low-risk wear items, the savings with quality aftermarket parts are legitimate.
The C3 has an advantage here: the car uses components shared with other Stellantis models, such as the Argo and Cronos. This means that many parts are widely available in the aftermarket, which tends to keep prices more affordable than in cars with exclusive platforms.
The costs that people forget to calculate.
In addition to scheduled maintenance, there are some unexpected expenses that many buyers don’t anticipate:
Tires: The C3 uses 195/55 R16 tires in its intermediate and top-of-the-line versions. A set of four good quality tires costs between R$ 1,200 and R$ 1,800 in 2025. Their lifespan varies greatly depending on driving style, but on average it is between 30,000 and 50,000 km.
Brake pads: They wear out faster with heavy urban use. The front assembly costs between R$120 and R$200 for an original part, plus labor.
Battery: The original battery has an average lifespan of 3 to 4 years. Replacement, including parts and installation, costs between R$ 350 and R$ 500. In newer models, it may be necessary to calibrate the charging system using DIAGBOX after replacement.
Alignment and balancing: Not included in scheduled maintenance. Recommended every 10,000 km or when the car starts pulling to one side. Average cost: R$ 120 to R$ 180 per visit.
Is it financially worthwhile?
A driver who travels approximately 1,000 km per month can save up to R$ 60 per month with the C3 compared to other models, which translates to R$ 700 in savings per year on fuel alone. Combined with relatively affordable maintenance costs, this equation favors those who value total cost of ownership..
The C3 isn’t the cheapest car to maintain on the market, but it’s far from the most expensive. The secret to keeping costs under control is simple: stick to the maintenance schedule without delay, refuse non-mandatory services, and, after the warranty expires, have a good, trustworthy independent mechanic.
Those who do this tend to spend significantly less than those who let things slide and then pay dearly for a problem that a regular check-up would have prevented.
