The horn is a safety feature, and when it stops working, it could be due to a blown fuse or the switch on the steering wheel (airbag spring).
- Focused Model: Citroën C4 Hatch, Pallas or Lounge (typical models).
- Location of Protection: The fuse that protects the horn (the electric motor) is located in Engine Service Module (BSM), under the hood, near the battery.
- Correct Fuse: The specific fuse for the horn is usually the… F12, with amperage of 15A (Always consult the manual, as there may be annual variations).
Relationship with the Airbag: Although the horn and the airbag share the Airbag Clock Spring (also known as Rotary Switch) on the steering wheel for routing wires, The horn fuse (F12/15A) is not directly connected to the airbag deployment circuit.. The airbag system has its own protection circuit in the BSI, which is managed by a dedicated safety fuse. If the horn problem is the airbag clock spring, the airbag warning light may also illuminate on the dashboard.
