What do you feel? The speedometer fluctuates, the car jerks randomly even at a constant speed, or it “forgets” to downshift when you stop at a traffic light.
The Logic of the Problem: The transmission has two “eyes” that measure the speed of the gears. If one of these sensors fails, the transmission becomes “blind” and doesn’t know the exact time to change gears.
- Possible Solution: Replacing the rotation sensors. These are external parts to the transmission, relatively inexpensive, and do not require opening the transmission.
