The Logic of the System: This code focuses on the processor that specifically handles accelerator pedal safety. Citroën uses a redundant system. If one sensor indicates you’ve pressed the pedal 10% and the other indicates 20%, the P0606 error code appears to lock the engine and prevent unwanted acceleration.
- Possible Solution: Check the butterfly body (TBI). If it’s extremely dirty or has worn-out internal plastic gears, it will physically seize up. The processor tries to move the part, it doesn’t move, and the system generates error code P0606, thinking the fault is in the car’s computer, when in fact it’s a mechanical defect in the metal part. A deep cleaning of the throttle body usually saves the day.
