What do you feel? The car exhibits bizarre and random behavior. The automatic transmission may jerk unexpectedly, the radio restarts on its own, or the ABS may report a momentary malfunction. The starter motor may seem a bit “heavy” on the first morning start, but the car will start.
The Logic of the System: Citroën’s electronics are extremely sensitive to voltage. The modules operate within a very specific voltage range (generally between 13.5V and 14.4V with the engine running). If the voltage drops below 12V for even a millisecond, the modules “get lost” and generate error codes from sensors that are perfectly fine, simply because there wasn’t enough power for them to read the data.
- Possible Solution: Replacing the battery with a top-of-the-line one with the correct amperage and, most importantly, cleaning the… grounding cables which are fixed to the transmission and the bodywork. “Verdigris” (that green crust) on the battery terminals is the biggest cause of the P0562 error code. Also check if the alternator is charging correctly above 13.8V.
