Citroën launches XTR versions of the C3 and Aircross: more adventurous cars starting at R$ 88,000.

Citroën has brought back a nameplate that was iconic in the 2000s. The new XTR versions of the C3 and Aircross arrive in Brazil with a more robust look, special tires, and details that promise more adventure in everyday life.

What does XTR mean?

XTR comes from the English word “eXTReme” (extreme) and was used by Citroën more than 20 years ago. Now, the French brand has decided to revive this name to create more adventurous versions of its best-selling cars in Brazil.

Key new features of the XTR versions

More robust look

Both models gained a more “adventurous” look with:

• Special colorPistachio green (Light Green) details throughout the body.
• Darkened finish: wheels, mirrors and front grille in glossy black
• XTR Emblems: applied to the hood, rear and seats
• Side guards: on the doors with green details

All-terrain tires

One of the main changes is the special tires:

• C3 XTR15-inch Pirelli Scorpion ATR tires
• Aircross XTR: 17-inch Pirelli Scorpion HT tires

These tires are “mixed-use” type, meaning they perform well on both city asphalt and dirt roads or gravel. Ideal for those who enjoy traveling and exploring different places on weekends.

Renovated interior

Inside, the cars gained:

• Special bankswith pistachio green stitching
• Premium panelwith a soft finish and green details
• Multimedia center: 10.25-inch screen with ultra-thin bezels
• More USB connectionsFor charging cell phones in the second and third rows.

Two cars, two styles

Citroën C3 XTR – R$ 88,990

The C3 XTR is a hatchback (small trunk car) that looks like an SUV. Main features:

• Tire pressure sensor: alerts you if any tire is flat
• Hill start assist: prevents the car from rolling downhill on speed bumps

The XTR versions come in three options:

• Black Pearlsolid color

A black roof gives cars a sportier and more modern look.

Focus on urban adventure

According to Felipe Daemon, vice president of Citroën in South America, the XTR versions were designed for those who want a versatile car. “It’s for use in the city during the week, but it can also handle an adventure on the weekend,” he explains.

The idea is to cater to people who live in the city but enjoy traveling to places with dirt roads, more secluded beaches, or inland towns.

Who should choose the C3 XTR:

• Tighter budget
• Primarily used in urban areas with occasional adventures.

Who should choose the Aircross XTR:

• Larger families (up to 7 people)
• For those who prefer automatic
• More space for luggage.
• More frequent trips

Both models have:

• Multimedia center with large screen
• Rearview camera
• Fog lights
• Electric windows on all doors
• Folding knife type key
• Seats with height adjustment for the driver.

Exclusive to the Aircross XTR:

• Rear parking sensor
• Sport mode on the gearbox
• Ceiling ventilation system
• Light in the trunk
• Removable third row

Market positioning

The XTR versions are positioned as the most equipped in their respective lines. They compete with:

• C3 XTR: Nissan March, Honda Fit, Hyundai HB20
• Aircross XTR: Honda HR-V, Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass

The difference lies in the adventurous look, the special tires, and the competitive price, especially for the C3 XTR.

Availability

The new C3 XTR and Aircross XTR are now available at Citroën dealerships throughout Brazil. Prices are for direct factory billing and individual customers.

Citroën believes these versions will attract a younger, more adventurous audience looking for a car that’s different from the norm, but without sacrificing comfort and fuel efficiency for everyday use.

Prices valid for September 2025 for the Perla Nera Black color. Other colors may have additional costs.
